Szabad Waldorf Általános Iskola és Gimnázium, AMI is a primary and secondary school, which works with Waldorf pedagogy and is part of the global network of Waldorf/Steiner schools. It is located in the southern region of Hungary, in the town of Szeged.
The school has 250 students between the ages of 6 and 19. The upper school is a general secondary school with grades between 9 and 13. Apart from preparing students for the national final exam in academic subjects, the students take part in a wide range of art lessons as well as work experience programmes in agriculture, business or industry and the social sector. In the 12th grade, students are required to prepare a senior project and a full-length drama performance in order to get their Waldorf diplomas. The 13th grade is only dedicated to preparation for the national exams.
In the secondary school, students have the opportunity to participate in several extracurricular activities including international projects (Comenius, Erasmus+).
