Business Telephone Communication – workshop

Students running school companies took part in workshops Business Telephone Communication – at Howest, University College West Flanders in Bruges.

During the workshops they learnt the rules of effective interpersonal communication by phone. They noticed the most common mistakes made by interlocutors, which were the main causes of misunderstandings. They practiced business phone calls in English according to earlier prepared hints, getting involved and playing roles of workers from various industries, banks or institutions.

The conversations were led by means of headsets and professional Lync software, which is commonly used in companies for sending urgent messages, having  phone conversations and conducting video conferences. The skills acquired during the workshop will help young people with contacts with customers, overcoming the stress connected with making phone calls. They will find it easier to place or take orders properly by phone or explain ensuing misunderstanding.
